From the Pastor’s Pen – April 2022

Hallelujah! Christ is risen!
Hallelujah! Death is defeated!
Happy Easter to all of you!

We are now entering the month of April. Spring is upon us! After having more than our fair share of cold and snow days, it is time to look around nature for flower buds, chirping birds, green grass and other really signs of spring. One of the best signs of spring is the uplifted feeling of joy at the freshness and newness that is within and around us.

Easter Sunday pulls our heartstrings. We hear the story of Jesus’ Resurrection, which reminds us of Jesus’ presence with us always, and what Jesus has brought to human life: hope, peace, renewal, purpose, joy, a message of love to share, as well as a world in need of healing and hearing of this love, that is meant for all humankind.

May Easter bring more healing, peace, and hope for those who are frustrated and in pain from the war waged by Russia and their government. May Easter bring the people of Ukraine peace and the end of this senseless war.

May this be a time to feel the warm presence of Jesus’ love for us wherever we are in our lives and in the church ministries! May Easter come with a sense of renewal that we can witness around us and that we, in turn, are witnesses to a broken world, a desperate world, and a struggling world with love and care.

For a sense of renewal in the Lord and closer to Jesus Christ during Holy Week, come and join us for these meaningful services:

Lenten morning prayer services at 8 am each day, Mon-Sat. (30 mins)
Maundy Thursday Drama Service at 7 pm.
Good Friday Service, April 15 at 7pm.
Easter Early Service (Sunrise) at 7:30 am at the Memorial Garden
Easter Breakfast at 8:00 am
Easter Celebration at 9:30 am with the reception of new members.

We pray that you and your family will come to join us for our Holy Week services and Easter Sunday celebration at church!

As we enter this season of joy and hope, let us join Mary Magdalene, Peter, James, John, Paul and all those who have shared in proclaiming the greatest words of salvation,

“He has risen!”
He has risen, indeed!

Your Sister in Christ,
Pastor Soon Sun
