DONATIONS NEEDED – Support the Island Lake, Wauconda Food Pantry and feed families in need.  There is a collection basket near the coat racks. They are specifically requesting plastic bags for carrying, high protein canned goods, and fruit. Find a list of other needed items here: Food Pantry Donation List. The first Sunday of every month  Food Pantry SundayWe will be collecting non-perishable items for the Wauconda Food Pantry.  Please bring non-perishable items and place them in the basket by the entry doors.  Thank you for helping those in need.

SUPER SENIORS – The March outing for the Super Seniors will be at Bakers Square in Libertyville. The date is Wednesday, April 17 and the time is 11:30 AM. Please sign up if you would like to join us. All seniors are invited. Hope to see you there!

40 DAYS OF LENTEN EARLY PRAYER SERVICES – March 7 – April 20. There will be 40 days of Lenten early prayer service at 8 AM at the church. It is 20 minutes of singing hymns, praying, reading the Scriptures, and reflecting the words of God. It will start March 7th through Holy Saturday, April 20 except Sunday mornings. Join us for 40 days of Lenten early prayer services which will help us focusing on Jesus and his suffering.

LENTEN BIBLE STUDY “24 HOURS THAT CHANGED THE WORLD” – Is it possible to experience and understand the significance of Jesus’ suffering and death? The goal is to help you better understand the events, reflect upon the meaning of twenty four hours of Jesus’ life, his suffering and his death, and see clearly how these events reflect on in your life. The five sessions will be offered at 6 PM on Tuesday night. Each DVD session averages ten minutes each. The series is authored by Rev. Adam Hamilton, Senior Pastor at UMC of the Resurrection in Leawood, KS.

NEW MEMBERSHIP CLASS IN APRIL – If you would like to become a member, renew your membership, or transfer your membership from another church, there will be a New Membership Class in April. Please let the pastor know (815-861-2415) if you are interested in participating.

RUMMAGE SALE DONATIONS – Starting today, April 7, we will be taking donations for our Rummage Sale. The annex door will be open every Sunday from 8:30 PM – 6:00 PM. If you need to drop off donations during the week please call Nancy Lucius or Tabitha Lucius to arrange another time. The dates of the rummage sale are September 26, 27, 28.

MOVIE NIGHT – On April 17 at 7:00pm we will be watching the movie “The Passion of Christ” directed by Mel Gibson. The passion of Christ is a great movie that depicts the final 12 hours of Jesus Christ in Jerusalem during his crucifixion. Everyone is invited to attend!

WAUCONDA CARE COMMUNION SERVICE – A Wauconda Care Communion Service with sing-along is held on the 4th Wednesday of each month at 3:00 PM. Meet at Wauconda Care, just off Rt. 176, at 2:45 PM if you’d like to help pass out bulletins, songbooks and greet the residents. Join us as we bring communion and songs to the people at Wauconda Care. This month has been moved up one week to April 17 at 3:00 PM.

WOMEN’S SUPPORT GROUP GATHERING – Apr. 25 Our goals are to provide friendship as a means of support, care, prayer, and understanding to the single or widowed older women in the church. On April 25 we will meet at J&D’s at 12:00 PM for lunch and then at Judy Culberg’s house at 1:00 PM. Those who are single, or widowed are invited to attend.

COFFEE TALK – Suicide Awareness and Prevention, May 4 from 10 AM-12 PM. This will be the first in a series of informal programs aimed at awareness, referral, education, in partnership with all interested members of our community. Who should come? All those interested in the safety and future of our children and community are encourage to attend. Come for coffee, enlightening conversation and refreshments! No reservations required.

 “180” MEMORY BOOKS and DVDs – On sale now. FOCW still has available a few of our new Memory Books containing historical information and wonderful stories from members of our congregation. We also have DVDs with copies of the 300 pictures which were part of the slideshow from Saturday. Memory Book $10; DVD $3 – proceeds will go to support the local Food Pantry. CHOIR REHEARSAL – Our choir practice is at 7:00 PM on Tuesdays. We welcome anyone who loves to sing. If you are interested in joining our choir, please see Geri Meyer.

TEACHERS NEEDED – The Sunday School Ministry is looking to recruit Sunday School Teachers join the team and begin teaching classes  January 2019-May 2019 (once each month).  This will allow teachers who have taught for several years to experience Sunday worship service on a regular bases.  If you are interested please see Nancy Swanson or Pastor Crystal Calhoun-Johnson.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – We are in need of people to volunteer to be a greeter before the worship service. Anyone interested in sharing a smile, a hug, a handshake or just making someone feel welcome, contact Mary Taylor. Become a greeter at Federated and make a difference!

COFFEE FELLOWSHIP HOST NEEDED – Please consider signing up to be the coffee fellowship host for a week or two. There is a sign-up sheet on the table by the window.

PRAYER MEETING – We have added more prayer meeting times for those of you who cannot come in the evening.  In addition to our 7:00 PM meetings on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Thursdays of the month, we will meet in the Sanctuary every Thursday morning at 10:00 AM.  Our prayer meetings are a time to gather with other believers to lift our needs and our praises to God.
